Very expensive, especially when you look how the Venom X graph looks in Puma's post, what is there to be improved. (I know this is just a 20Khz measurement)
I believe the venom x speakercable is non shielded, is that correct ?
I don't know if it's shielded or not, and most respectfully, I really don't care.

I own a pair of the Venom-X SPs that I use for listening to my GR-Research X-LS Encores (because of Danny's insistence on using tube connectors) that have bananas on the speaker end, and they are...FANTASTIC.
And, I also own and use the higher-level Alpha V2s speaker cables (using 'em right now for the Harbeths). The Venom-Xs SPs are
so good I could happily live with them forever. Same for the ICs. In fact, the ICs I'm using from the Lumin P1 to the Constellation Inspiration integrated is a Venom-X XLR, and I am VERY happy with it's performance. Job done.
In my experience, the Venom-X line is a
veritable breakthrough for performance/dollar. With respect to the ICs, I can say that based on comparing Alpha V2 and V-x ICs by comparing them directly in controlled conditions on the same content, in the same system configuration, in the same room at the same barometic pressure and temp for the same components. Yes, Alpha V2 is better, there's no getting around the benefits that TAP brings, but...Venom-X is so good, I could live with it "happily ever after."
I'm not chasing "perfection", I'm just looking to have an engaging, natural, and relaxed (as Hans Beekhuyzen says) musical experience. And, Venom-X will definitely get you there...
