My McIntosh equipment right now amounts to amps and speakers. MC501s x 3 for L/C/R powering LS360 L/R and XR27 Center Speakers. I also have WS350 in-walls for surround speakers and Zone 2 downstairs in living room powered by the amps in my Denon AVR-A100 receiver. ModWright LS100 is currently performing 2-channel preamp duties.

I am deciding if I should have isolation platforms for the tube amps or if I should have a long shelf and place them on the ends of it. I would prefer not to place them in a typical rack. Suggestions welcome. (note to admin: Mike I know this belongs somewhere hope that's okay). Also has any one ever heard of a swivel love seat as opposed to a swivel chair?

Thanks Dewey!!

Nice jeff......how's the LS100 sounding?

It's a terrific sounding preamp, Jeff, and quite frankly a huge bargain for the price, like all MWI equipment seems to be. I'm really glad I decided to go this direction vs. a Mc preamp. The phono-preamp that I had included is fantastic! The LS100 really opened up the sound of my sytem - much more three dimensional sound with better fullness, body and extension. Music sounds more alive and real if that makes sense. The synergy with my MC501s is really good, although I'm tempted to try out a MWI amp in my system now to hear how that matches up.

There are a couple of minor things that I'd like to see different about the LS100, especially with how the HT bypass functions and operates. I've given that feedback to Dan, so I will share more about what is on the horizon regarding that in the near future! ;)

I had Dan's 36.5 pre and his SWP 9.0 phono stage....enjoyed them very much. Haven't had a chance to hear his MWI but hear its nice.....let us know if you move in that direction.

Jeff - nice setup! The treatments are so subtle and blend in perfectly. I bet they make a nice difference.

Mike.
P.S. is that the ultimate in TV stands or what?

Thanks Mike! That was my goal with the panels - blend them in so they didn't stick out too much. Night and day in terms of sound, especially with the ones I put on the ceiling.

That BDI Vista stand is awesome! I was so glad that I was able to remove the glass shelf and use the arms to hold my XR27 center speaker. That thing is huge/heavy!
