Might seem like a question a fool would ask but what is the shortest speaker cable can you use when you link mc275 to Elipsas? Would .5 m be to tight ie amp and speakers too close. I like to look at amps from the side not front to back so the length differs from terminal to terminal right vs left.

Shorter the better. But remember, measure twice, cut once.

I would go 1.5M in order to wrap-around the rear of the right hand amp if you want to keep the tube-side forward for both channels.

Might be best to do a test-layout / mock up using 1/4" clothes line cord to confirm the lay and length before purchasing proper cables.

Thank you Mikech and BlueMcIntosh and Mike: I am guessing 1.5 M fits the bill the best.

Are these speakers and amplifier mounted on your desk and listened to while you sit and work?

One meter apart seems awfully close especially when you consider the cable bends behind the components.

Why are you concerned about having such short cables? Don't you want a little wiggle room?

Why am I concerned is a good question. I have convinced myself that cables matter and in the process the length of cable matter also. It is my understanding that with tube amps the shortest run of speaker cable the better especially in terms of bass. Am I incorrect?

Bill - I don't think you would hear the difference between 2 feet and 3 meters provided the speaker cables are of reasonable decent quality. I would go with 2 meters or 8 feet (depending on the cable manufacturer).

With your gear, I would be inclined to try Nordost, Ansuz and Shunyata. WW platinum 7 is also an excellent cable. I heard it Sunday.

Didn't you once like silver coated copper to brighten it up a little?

I just understood your question. No they are 10 feet apart with each mono'd 275 about 18 inches from each speaker. I am using long interconnect.
