Shelter Harmony

Installed the Harmony tonight on the Graham Phantom II Supreme and Wow.....fresh out of the box she is a singing, nothing like the 501 & 901 which I always felt a bit tipped up on top. The Harmony has a very fluid sound through out, not shouty what so ever.....I think I'm going to like this one.

Jeff, that's good to hear considering it is a $5.4k cartridge and twice as expensive as the 901 and almost 5x as much as the 501... ;)

Its pricey for sure......I really think it will run with any cartridge at this price level, can't wait to get some hours on it.

Jeff, I've never heard a Shelter cartridge. What kind of "House Sound" do they have ??

Mark

Hi Mark......My exsperiences have been with the 501 & 901 models, they have a more lively sound, the mids on up are out in front more so, a smidge too much for my liking and not very much analog like.....this Harmony is way different much more so balanced from top to bottom, its robust and well rounded with out sounding slow, its top end is energetic but clean and smooth, doesn't wear me out like the previous Shelter's did......so far with just a few plays I'd say it a fantastic cartridge.

Very cool,Jeff. Keep us informed. Have I told you how much I love that Chinook I got from you ???

lol
