SF Amati Futura .... So beautiful ....

Not in anyway bashing Mc product(I've owned and loved for a while), but when I had the Futura paired up with MC601's, C50, and C500T it was good but was never thought it worth the $36,000 price. Now I have it paired up with the Bryston 28's, it really took the Futura to a whole new level.. My point is equipments has a lot to do with what type of sound you get out of any speakers in any price range, and would be best to play around with different gear & cables to find what would work best for you..

Just my opinion..

Dewey, you're absolutely spot on !! I have heard the Futura's with 3 different sets of pre/power amps, it makes a huge difference. The Bryson 7B sst sounded superb with the Futura. The Accuphase gear was my least favorite.

So many hobbies to choose, we had to pick this.. :bonkers:

But the rewards is so worth it..:audiophile:

+1 on both points. I also think part of the fun is the journey and the thrill of the hunt.

I know what an Amati Homage is and I know what an Amati Anniversario is but what's an Amati Homage Anniversario? :dunno:

Ok...This is the one. :)

The picture is of Amati Anniversario, in the the Homage Series designed by Paolo Tezzon.

Amati Homage is the name of the first non-stand mount Homage speaker. It and Stradivari were designed by Franco Serblin.

Yup. It's like you say tomato, I say tomahto .:D I never had a chance to hear the Amati Homage yet ( I wonder if some one still has them around ) However I forgot to mention one more speakers ..the Extrema.

You merged the name of a Franco Serblin speaker and a Paolo Tezzon speaker. Not to worry. It's pretty common for those not familiar with Sonus Faber history.

No worries. I will send an email to John Atkinson to correct the name on his review to "Sonus Faber Amati Anniversario Homage Collection" Speakers.

RIP Franco Serblin...:(

Not to put too fine a point on it but what does any reviewers description have to do with what a company's name for a product is? Missed edits happen all the time and John knows (knew) the speaker was Amati Anniversario.

Sonus faber Amati Anniversario is the speaker. Homage is the series.

To be honest with you. I don't really care how they call or what they call ....I only care about the sounds.
After owned five different Sonus faber speakers I don't know if I ever get a SF speakers again.....However if I do it would be the Strads... nothing else. :)

If I only had the room/space for them, I would have parted the sea for them. I need to keep my goals modest. :bettyjoe: If my situation changes in a few years, at least I have something to look forward to owning.

Joe if you call your system modest then i should have garbage, i don't think that there is ANYTHING modest in your system it's ALL first class equipment - Dartzeel - D'Agostino - Burmester - TAD - Klipsch - Carver - Meitner - Modwright - man what more can santa bring you.:):):)

Hi Andre,

You have a wonderful system and you've heard a lot more than I ever will. Right now my situation is unique and I am fortunate to have some great gear. I think the problem lies with too much access to websites like this one. I see all the shiny new toys and I can't help myself.

I see a turntable and all that goes with it in my future. Maybe another DAC and maybe one more pair of speakers. See what can happen if I am not careful.

Okay I'll start with a TT and see where that takes me.

Bob,

Very well said. You are absolutely right.

We are all unique, and that's what makes us all beautiful in our own peculiar ways. :)

Andre's audio gear, loudspeakers, and beautiful music collection are all awesome!
