Seriously? Who do they think they are fooling?

Exactly... not meant as a big negative to PS Audio... I just am not a fan of BS advertising. They would have a much better chance of getting me to purchase another piece from them by being up front and honest with me.

Agreed. What’s with this secret exclusive, private sale, you need a password BS? It’s no secret if everyone gets the same email.

If does not say secret. It says private which is likely everyone on their mailing list. Seems like people are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Got the same email. I see this as a convenient way to get into the BHK series at a 33% discount if PS Audio is your jam. Maybe they have extra stock to move and they wanted to offer it first to people who've expressed an interest by signing up to the mailing list. Don't forget that PS Audio offers a buy back program for your current gear, so the non-privileged (e.g., those NOT on the mailing list) can still get the same BHK gear for a similar discount by trading in their old gear. With the right trade-in, you'd be getting a very similar deal.

It's to make you feel special, unique, privileged...like your wife sweet talking to you when she needs a new pair of shoes. :)

They like you, they like your money more. It's normal during a pandemic; they need stimuli, and your money provide that. They know how to operate, by massaging your brain, and your wallet. :)

They're good these guys, they're very good. ...Wise guys. They are special, just let them know how special they are...ask them if they would like a free trip to the pyramids in Egypt?

Kinda on the line of the candidate messages I get for donations.

They need masks for their employees and hand sanitizers. Not the ones made in China and Mexico or Canada, but the ones made in America. Just use your magic password, bank of America credit card magic number. :)

Before the pandemic it wasn't too bad, now it's getting worse every day.
Wait another six months ... they'll come right up to your front door ringing that door bell.
Best to prepare and lock yourself in; externally and Internet alley. We're going to see a lot more bankruptcies in the next six months. It's inevitable.

How much are they selling the non moving 15K PS Audio BHK Signature 300 for now?

Now that they factory direct I assume they sell them for 9k a pair that they no longer have to support retail pricing - bring the savings direct to the customer.

so the special prices are 6k or less?

No, $10k “special”.

High margin and low quality product.

With an added dose of hyperbolic claims from the manufacture .

The Emotiva of "high end" audio.

Makes sense why they went direct only.

Why would anyone want to buy their BHK gear. Over the past year there have been quite a lot used BHK gear for sale on Audiogon and similar sites. I deleted the email as soon as I saw it.

Mike is one of the good guys. i'd happily buy from him.

but if you step back and see this for what it is.....this is a brick and mortar hifi business complaining about some direct marketing from a brand that just switched to direct selling from brick and mortar. understandable feelings from Mike.

the direct marketing is not the most forthright, but it also does not cross any lines....even for the hifi business. just trying to engage customers during a slow time when customers are scarce.

as a GM of a franchised new car dealership, i deal with this concept every single day. it's normal, and i don't like it aimed at my customers either.

I did not say that the e-mail crossed any lines, in my view. I did however say, also in my view, that it was dis-ingenuous and an insult to me. It skirted the line on honesty and did nothing but make me far less liking to consider their products.

And before anyone states that I would never buy their products anyway I would state that I have purchased their amplifiers, both stereo and mono blocks not that long ago. I also very recently was considering their phono stage and when I purchased my T+A DAC I was seriously considering a PS Audio DAC. I believe it ended up being my second choice.

I am very surprised to read this thread & it's content on here...

Somehow my name found its way onto you-know-who’s mailing list (possibly after a complaint about some over-priced and poorly-working power device I tried decades ago) but I get really annoyed at the bucket loads of bs their newsletters spew out.

In particular, wonderful offers to hugely improve the sound quality of your just-purchased device that was praised as the world’s best just 6 months before by a costly upgrade is what I dislike about you-know-who’s unconvincing marketing mumbo jumbo. Trouble is, there are too many hi-fi buyers who are gullible to this nonsense, believe what they read and part with their hard-earned cash.

Absolutely.

Further, no one should have been "fooled" by the private sale aspect of this. It is what it is. Nothing more.

Just appears to be a sales pitch form a direct sales manufacture. I guess if you log on and can buy it makes you think your special since it is a insider sale:rolleyes:

LOL ROFL. How is that price " special" That seems more expensive than the direct manufacturer pricing should be.

Am I missing something, or didn't PS Audio reduce prices after that dumped all retailers and the margins that retailers must make to go factory direct?
