Saw the Dynaudio new Contour 20

I think what Joe was meaning was the JBL sound less "HIFI" than other speakers or that is the way I took it. That is how I think of my Spatial's as well less "HIFI" and more true music. I know my Spatial speakers have their lovers and their haters but to me they are very respectful to the original recording.

I wonder if Dynaudio figured out that people are starting to move more in a higher sensitivity speaker direction and that is why their new speakers are supposed to be easier to drive. I know my old Audience 60's took a lot of power to wake up and they really made my Bias meter move on my Pass amp, I haven't got the needle to move on my Spatial's since owning them.

I guess in a roundabout way, that's what I mean. The frequency response may not be ruler flat but what I hear is so engaging and musical, I don't care about anything else. When the 4367s are playing, I care about the music and about song, after song, after song, etc.

I apologize if you thought I spoke for you I just kind of thought that was what you were meaning by saying that. since moving to compression drivers and pro sound sourced drivers done the right way I think I would have a hard time going back to soft domes and small cone woofers now that I am used to the dynamics I have now

Please, no apology needed. Sometimes I find it difficult to put to words what I hear/feel about gear and you are absolutely correct, but I kind of feel there's more. There's a satisfied feeling that I get listening to my JBLs that's different from other speakers. I will say that my Strads are my first love but the JBLs rock too.

there are times that things just sound right and it is hard to explain. To me that feeling that you are talking about is much more important than any measurement that I know of or at least to me it is. To me using more of the two things mounted on the side of your head is more important than overworking the thing in the middle of your head. Just enjoy and don't over think things!!
