Mwah... I bought the Akai because it reminded me of when I was young, this was the kind of system I would drool over. The (mainly) JVC system is actually not bad. JVC launched their DigiFine series to compete with the Sony ES gear. The Yamaha T7 tuner is my favorite, because the presets work with a motor that tunes in to the desired station. Very cool to see it move. The TT is/was an Akai AP-006, heavily modified by yours truly and fitted with an Benz MC 20E2 cartridge. But obviously the 'big system' is in a different league.
