Sad News...Bob Reina of Stereophile passed away...

Thank you Cyril. Sad news. I met him at a local stereo store many years ago. Very nice gentleman. I felt his taste in gear was similar to my own. I wish his family well.

That IS sad news. One of my favorite audio reviewers because he covered a lot of budget gear. He will be missed.

Oh dear sad indeed--a very fair minded reviewer--plus he still favored his Vendetta Phono

after all these years--as do I--still the benchmark!

RIP

+1. It was Robert's review, of the Dyn X12; that got me started on the hi-end road!

I had always wanted a big-buck system; but mired in the mid-fi, until about 8 years back. I decided, I was going to spend a thousand whole dollars, on some good speakers! (gasp :disbelief:). I did some research, and Dyns were on my short list; when I read RR give them high praise...and call them his new reference, under two thousand dollars.

Of course the Dyn guys, talked me into s t r e t c h i n g...and buying Focus 140s instead; but he was still the impetus...and the rest, as they say (some 5-figures later), is history.

R.I.P. and beautiful music :audiophile:

He was a great reviewer. I wish his family all the best during this tough time.
