I really like them both also.
And except for last night when I turned up the D3s way too loud because I was upstairs doing some things, they don't pop on me either. A funny sight to be sure as I was running down the stairs to turn them down yelling s s s s s s.

Congrats! I will be curious to hear how your S5's sound right out of the crates. I was sort of amazed that they sounded very, very good immediately.

Bob and David, do you think you're both typical of dealers in your orders for the S Series over Q? I wonder if anyone is ordering the Qs anymore. A little like the iPad taking sales away from the MacBook.

The s1 I think is 12600. The 3's are 22 and change and the 5's are 30 . Not that bad in today's astronomical speaker prices.
And I can get metallic lime green!!!!

I asked my rep Jon if I would receive Q series any quicker but he said no. At first I thought maybe this was because there are still a bunch of Q series being purchased. But the way they do their ordering it wouldn't matter. They build to order as they are received. I have a feeling there are many Q series still ordered but I have to believe the S series is out selling the Q. I got the S series to get a taste of Magico and will order a Q3 or Q5 for sure.
FWIW - The Magico dealer in Toronto told me he sells 10 pairs of S series speakers for every pair of Q series speakers.

I actually wanted one pair of Q's, probably Q3's, but I don't think there is any doubt about it that the S series, based on price AND performance are true winners. Although certain "ears" would surely prefer the Q's. I'm sort of waiting for a Q??? before I jump into Qland.

I did several demos so far with the S5's, several people turned to me after three seconds and said "Oh Wow"......Absolare/S5's......which will confidently be in the Absolare room at CES.

The Absolare amps drive the S5's? Amazing. To what kind of volume levels?

When the room is "lit up" it's playing at around 90db with 95db peaks and feeling very relaxed, but powerful. You could get up to about 95db with 98 db peaks but it would be too loud for me.

I really believe that once everyone hears this combination at CES it will be well reviewed and discussed......
