My laptop did an update the other day and now when I go to Roon to listen to some of my music my Bryston DAC says it's receiving 44.1/16 no matter what the file was downloaded in. I really have to get a music server.

Roon is becoming iTunes. They are packing so much into it that it is no longer fun to use. I'm Sticking with good old Sooloos for now. Never a glitch.

Bloatware...if only JRiver would link up with HQP! I heard that its possible for someone to write a virtual driver to shunt JRiver output to HQP. Heck, JRiver could do this ad sell the software for $15 a pop. This would be nice side income for them.

Under Device Setup: Bryston USB Audio ASIO Driver
Under playback I have the Bit Perfect Format Support with all the supported fields from 44.1kHz to 384kHz. Then there is Use Max Hardware Buffer Size with a yes on no switch. Then a Use Power-of-2 Hardware Buffer Size with a yes no switch. Lastly a Max Sample Rate (PCM) which I have set to Up to 192kHz.

If that makes any sense to you. If not, I understand.

Roon works like a charm for me... certainly anything but bloatware.... They added several customized features, but you don't have to use these. I find it extremely easy to use, much more so than JRiver (I have version 21). I still use JRiver if I want to convert file formats... but for normal music listen through my music server it is Roon all the way.

Yes, in that thread I reported how Roon support sent a roll back file until they could resolve the issue. They came out with a resolved version a couple days later. Amazing support actually...
