I decided at the last minute to honor my pre-booking and show up at RMAF 2019 - this place is Mammoth!

Rooms appear to be really spread out, meaning the floors are not packed and assume its part related to attendance but also the shear size of this venue.

The highlights of the day besides seeing my audiophile buddies from around the country was the Wilson room, those DAW’s did their job, and well! Also, on static display is the Chrono. I was able to meet Darryl and his Mom, Sheryl Lee, they are genuine and welcoming.

The best sounding room so far was the Boulder Room, with Vienna Acoustics, and REL Subs, all wired with top end Nordost cabling and their QRT powering system.

Sad part was I ended up in a modest confrontation with the Synergistic owner as I was not sure what the transducers or whatever they are called do. The room was playing the Stereo Gryphon Mephisto with Magico's M2’s using vinyl as a source. The combination worked, but did not yield IMO what should be heard out of this components and speakers.

Richard explained his powered speakers, and was informative - I like him, straight up, no BS

More tomorrow on the bigger day on what stands out the best to me, and whoever else is here perhaps can use this thread.

Love them or hate them, so far this room with YG Sonja 2.3, VTL Siegfried Series, TL-7.5 Series III linestage, and TP 6.5 Series II plus Nordost Odin 2, and full QRT takes the cake. Mike always does a great presentation.

You look at that cable set up ( can we say mess?) and is it any wonder that most of our lady friends are NOT interested in the hobby!
Maybe at some point in the future, we will be able to do away with something like that....and have the hookup with one cable ( ala HDMI connection)...would seem to make a lot of sense. Except, that is if you are a cable manufacturer!

Cable management to me is vital, for sound and aesthetics. I think they are pushed to get the room setup is why the mess. I’ll ask.

Ansuz / Borreson was in two areas. Both had a good sound coming from stand speakers, they selected the right music to play with to not get too low, which the REL May pair nicely with.

They had their new switch working highlighting power supply and noise reduction, both mechanical and electrical. Puma would have been proud!

PS Audio had a very nice room, laid out showing their products.

The AN3 was playing and did not seem to have it sounding thin and unnatural - I am hoping they are successful with this and wish them nothing but the best

SME introduced their new 68 lb entry level turntable, that comes with an arm and outboard power and speed control - about $10,800, it was paired with a Chord Phono Symphonic.

I liked it, and will look at it more.
