Any reviews or personal experience concerning RIZE footers (available for both component and speaker fitment) ???

They're in the same price range as the Stillpoint Ultra SS.

Just ordered a set of Rize footers (by Critical Mass Systems) from Geoff @ Glen Poor Audio.

They should arrive next week.

Rize footers arrived today :exciting:

Briefly:
Music much more emotionally involving
PRAT
Quite a few previously undiscovered musical details from familiar music now apparent
Resolution: more solid/palpable
While not inexpensive, improvement is almost like listening to a component upgrade.
Wish I'd tried them earlier !

More initial impressions of music sources posted on What's Best Forum under TWEAKS section...Back to more listening :D Sorry, don't know how to do the link

All the best,

Sorry for the delay... I've been dealing with the ongoing issues in my recovery from stage 4 throat cancer.... But, I'm on the right side of the Grass ;)

the Rize footers have been a serious improvement over the less expensive, but over-performing, for the price, Stillpoints ultra mini risers.

The Stillpoints are now under my Candella preamp and has improved the sound even more. I sill prefer the Rize footers under the Modwright Sony ES 5400 player.

The retrieval of previously unheard details on familiar music is gratifying. Improvement in all music ranges and soundstage and thus, enjoyment, is akin to a component upgrade.

The focus on improving room acoustics, vibration management and power cord upgrades in lieu of component replacement has resulted in the most improvement in musical enjoyment for the $$$. I appreciate all the good info from all the audiosharks and especially Ralph aka Kiwi regarding room acoustic upgrading.:celebrate008_2:

As budget allows, I'd like to try more Rize footers and evaluate them against Stillpoint Ultra SS.

Back to 2 AM by the Michael Wolff Trio... One my favorite performances and a superb recording to boot.

Tom, sorry to hear about your throat cancer. I wish you a strong and speedy recovery.

Curious, are the Rize footers like Stillpoints Ultras?

Allen,

Thanks..... They look very similar to the Ultra SS....

Go to: criticalmasssystems.com and click on products and then footers for more info and pics.

All the best,

Sorry for the delay... I've got a a second set of Rize footers ( on loan from someone who PM'ed me).
Now have Rize footers under both the Modwright 5400ES and the Odyssey Candela preamp. The Stillpoint mini's are now under the Modwright PS 9.0 power supply...
Another big step forward as anticipated... Results are cumulative +++,... Will try the mini Stillpoints under my musical Surroundings Phonomena phonostage also..
More detail, air, depth and enjoyment ++++ ... improvements throughout all the frequency ranges also+++... Hopefully I'll get a chance to compare them to the Stillpoint SS sometime soon.... That's all for now.

All the best,
Tom

I'm as skeptical as they come in this hobby so when someone waxes eloquent about how this or that parted the clouds I move along to something more believable like unicorns or tooth fairies. I have no idea as to the how or the why but my sonics have changed dramatically from the get go and I think for the better so let me explain. First of all I did two things while I had my daughter and son in law captive...they supplied the good lower backs. In addition to adding the footers I removed the little rubber spikes that separate the M/T unit from the bass unit on my VSA VR5 Anniversary speakers and installed 1/2" thick sorbothane discs...5 per speaker, between cabinets so not sure which to credit for the changes. Initially my reaction was "wow something has changed but not sure I can live with it". Micro sounds are much more pronounced now...bell sounds, percussives...etc. and the sonics are much more vivid that what I'm used to being produced by the MAC-VSA synergy. The micros were always there but recessed. I listened to familiar track after track and still wasn't sure especially with voice sibilance. On instrumentals it's to die for both the high freq and low freq stuff...very very palatable. It's like I upgraded my 501s....it's that dramatic. I'm beginning to come around to believing that I have unlocked the VR5s true potential so will live with this and see how we get along. The only breaking in required is on my part and I seem to be getting there.

Repeat post from another forum by me...

I'm glad you're enjoying the Rize footers.

I've got a trio each under my Odyssey Candela preamp and my Modwright Truth-Mod Sony ES5400 Sacd player:celebrate008_2:

The January issue of the Absolute Sound has a very positive review of the Sotto Voce equipment stand, Rize footers and other Critical Mass Systems products.

You can bet I'll be adding more Rize footers as budget allows. Great bang for the buck :D

I guess CMS isn't a secret anymore. If I'm not mistaken the boys from PFO were the first to leak it.

I'm a long time CMS user from the days before the PXK, QXK era. The modular rack concept Joe actually gives me credit for. Something I feel I don't deserve. I told him what my needs were (had to be easily packed and disassembled for shows and reconfigured on site as needed) and he came to it all by himself. That is the actual truth of it all. We were the first foreign CMS distributor and just the fourth dealer over all. A single review had yet to be written. I came across the company because I was looking at CES pics. A whole bunch of companies were using the grandmaster filters. Coincidentally these were garnering best of show awards with only passing mention of the supports. If you've ever participated in a show, you'll know that you will take every advantage you can get. I said to myself, hmmmmmmm, I haven't had much success with my own DIY attempts at constrained layer damping and was not satisfied with the locally available products at the time. I started with amp stands which were borrowed by a client and never came back. There's a saying that you only realize what you have when you lose it. Well, that happened. I couldn't listen to my system until the replacements arrived. The rest is history.

These RiZE products are a great introduction to the CMS experience. I use a bunch of them in my bedroom system where my wife might pull a Lorena on me if I even try to bring the PXKs in.
