RIP Robin Williams

What dreams may come...so prophetic.

Nanu-Nanu Over and Out

For anyone who is not aware of this very underrated and under watched movie, I highly suggest you see it or for those who have, watch it again.

The visuals alone for the time it was made are stunning. And without turning anything religious, the second half of the movie is largely based on Emanuel Swedenborg's most famous writings, Heaven & Hell. In his book H&H, he outlays his beliefs in what Heaven and Hell really are and it's makeup of levels and rings closer to or farther away from the center of the sphere, his God. The movie may not make as much sense without understanding the context and writings it was modeled after. But even without knowing all that, the movie is stunning, just like his career, life and now his death.

Long Live his spirit, compassion, and comedy!

I agree Brian, well said !
RIP Robin

I was actually more a fan of RWs movies, than his stand-up. His approach was brilliant, no question; and ground-breaking in the 70s I guess. But as my friend used to put it...his manic rapid-fire style, was akin to throwing spaghetti against the wall, and seeing what stuck. It wore thin after a while.

But...he was born to play, what I think were his best roles; Dead Poet's Society, Good Will Hunting...and if you haven't seen it, don't overlook The Fisher King!

RIP Robin

Just went on IMDb to check out his movie history. An impressive body of work.

Particularly remember watching Aladdin and Jumanji with the kids many times over...

RIP.

I thought I was the only one that liked the fisher king. Brilliant movie and brilliant acting. And I agree with you entirely I found his acting was actually his strong suit. It was impossible not to feel connected with robin Williams. So we all mourn now. Tragic.

I also liked one hour photo. I actually preferred his more serious roles, he was an intense actor.
