Rhino is part of Warner Music Group and has access to their huge catalogue. These include many great titles. This includes the pop/rock albums that have been missing from the high quality commercial tape releases (15ips 2 track). Additionally, these releases are made by RTM on LPR90, 1 mil tape that allows albums to be released on one reel for the price of $300 per album (a great price in the world of high quality tapes).

Rhino uses the original master tapes, making copies that are sent RTM in France which then make the copies that you get, so second generation tapes from the master tapes. This is the same level as Tape Project and Acoustic Sounds tapes.

Initially, the plan was to release two albums every six months which began last fall. This has accelerated and there have been eight albums released in the first nine month. A total of 300 to 500 tapes per album are available. So far (according to the Rhino website June 26, 2026) Workingman's Dead is sold out.

Yes Yes Album
T.Rex Electric Warrior
Grateful Dead Workingman's Dead
The Stooges Fun House
Curtis Mayfield Superfly
Joni Mitchell Blue
Fleetwood Mac Self Titled (first album with Nicks and Buckingham)
ZZ Top Tres Hombres

They have picked some great titles. Having sold my A80 a decade ago I’m not sure I want to hop on the wagon. I’s great to see a growing interest in these excellent analog formats.
