I've had an AMR DP-777 tubed DAC for many years now and I would like to replace the tubes, however I've heard it isn't very straightforward to open up to perform this. Is there anyone out there who can give me some guidance? I made a first attempt before realizing I didn't have the right allen wrenches but I was able to get the back plate off, but from there it wasn't very obvious what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You need to remove the top cover to access the tubes.

And how does one get the top cover off? I took out all of the screws on the back plate and the top cover still didn't seem to want to come off. Do I just need to try harder? :)

Looking at Google images there appears to be screws on the bottom of the unit. My guess is you need to find out which few screws you need to loosen in order to lift the top off. Proceed at your own risk because you certainly don't want to loosen circuit boards on standoffs or transformers or that sort of thing. I'd start with the outside four corner screws or anything along the very perimeter.

Thanks for your thoughts!
