Anyone that's been to my house lately knows that I've run out of room with my records. I've been looking around for a solution. Of course, the defacto standard is the IKEA KALLAX. I look at some others like Mapleshade and Wax stacks. But this one really caught my eye, so I decided to order it:

However, not matter what, I'm no where near as bad off as this guy:

The reason why a lot of vintage vinyl is in poor condition. Many collections were never stored properly.

My wife would never allow that in the house. I recently found an old cedar chest at a antique shop that will actually store 3 rows of records perfectly. More importantly, my wife approves.

Well Mike I saw what your talking about, but there is a simple solution I would say Mark and I could find a place to store some of those records for you in our houses.:doubtful:

Mike did your closet have shelves or could that area be turned into a storage area with some modification

Ha! It has shelves, but I filled those up. The one side has all vinyl, the other has NOS tubes.

Mike

I've got three of those and they work great. Assembly can be tricky the first time until you figure out the "tricks.'

you are obviously not 'the King' of your castle !

BTW, looks good Mike ! I like the 'flip' area for ones records in 'heavy rotation' !

For those so talented it looks pretty easy to make your own, I suspect for well less than $100

Build it like an ancient Egyptian Mike and if you have it staggered in layout , it acts as a great diffusor

Mike is there any area near your record cleaning machine to store those tubes and then use the side in the closest for vinyl

Unfortunately no. I have all my home theater gear there and I had specific slots built for tubes (too short for vinyl).

Good one Mike....pull the other one. Those things are precious Man , treat them with love & respect. Have something built custom....

Hey love, how's your tube closet looking today? Time to pull out the Amplitrex. It's been awhile since we did some tube testing? Don't argue with me, slip that in and give me a reading!
