Raid: Which version is your choice and why?

Raid 5. Better than mirroring and data and parity are striped across 3 (or more) disks. Raid 6 is a smidgen better due to enhanced parity, but Raid 5 is more common and more popular for most home NAS needs.

But....with drives getting now larger...is Raid 5 relevant since 2009 and, will Raid 6 be a viable solution after 2019?
 
RAID10 followed by RAID5. RAID10 is basically striped mirroring and gives you the best performance and highest redundancy.

RAID5 is OK for home.

I've been using these two RAID types for 20 years.
