Hopefully it'll end better for me than it did in the film.

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Andy, and I'm originally from NYC. I moved to Detroit in the late '90s and have been here ever since. I've been into the high end since my days hanging out at Sound by Singer, where I encountered (and purchased) much of the gear that lit my audiophile fuse. I've heard great things about AS, and I finally decided to give it a try.

At this point, I've settled into somewhat of a groove with my current gear. I plan to have it a good long while (famous last words, of course). It's nothing SOTA by any stretch, but it has a very natural presentation that gets the job done. I'll post it ASAP.

Anyhoo, just wanted to give a brief intro. Glad to be here with you guys!

Quint, I love AS. It's a warm friendly and humble environment and the main anchor, Mike... he's just the bomb! I'm a fan.

Quint...welcome to AS :hi: I've been to Sound by Singer a number of times when he still had the b&m store down by Union Square. I think he is appointment only know in an apartment off the main street. Anyhow, glad you decided to wade into our warm waters. Everyone is welcome here. When you get a chance, update your signature with system specs if you'd like, or just describe it in a post here. Welcome!

Thanks very much, Cmalak. Back in the day, I used to be a messenger/clerical stalwart for my mom's brokerage on Madison, and I used to be down by SxS all the time. Suffice it to say, I often spent more time in there than I did working. So did the addiction start. :D

I'll describe my system here, if it's OK:

MAIN RIG

Speakers: Jena Labs Studio Reference
Amp: Coda S12.5 stereo amplifier (modified)
Source: Marantz SA-7S1 (modified)
IC/SCs: Jena Labs
PCs: Jena Labs
Line Conditioning: Jena Labs
Rack/Isolation: Silent Running Audio

AUXILIARY RIG

Speakers: Definitive Technology Mythos STS
Amp: Coda CSi-B integrated
ICs/SCs: Jena Labs
PCs: Jena Labs
Line Conditioning: Jena Labs

As I said in my initial post, my rigs are nothing earth-shattering (at least compared with what I've seen here), but they suffice for what I need. Overall, they're reasonably well balanced, especially the main system.

Very nice  Thx for sharing. I was not aware that Jena Labs made speakers. I thought they made audiophile-grade wires only.

The speakers are very limited production. To my knowledge, there are only four pairs extant, including Jennifer's personal pair. They won't bring down the walls dynamically, but imaging and transparency are pretty special.

Welcome Andy ! Great to have another JENA Labs fan on board. I just had Jennifer modify my Marantz MA9s1 monos and am waiting for her to do mods on my SA7S1 player and on my MA9S2 monos. Jennifer and her husband Mike are great engineers and superb human beings. I am also waiting to take possession of my Sequoia Power Conditioner. If it is as good as the Model 2 power cables then I am in for a treat.

Game over man!! :panic::hide: But seriously, welcome to the Shark tank Andy, don't be afraid to get your feet wet in a thread or two..:snicker:
