Hello, Mr. Lie. Wondering if you might shed some light on some of the issues that I've been having. I'll cut and paste what I asked another member who had been having some problems with his D1:

~~~~~~~~~~
Stellablues, may I ask about your experience with Roon? I've never used it, but I seem to have problems every day with the Lumin app and the D2. Either it takes a very long time (if at all) for the app to show anything on the iPad screen after the D2 is turned on and the Lumin app is selected, or the "Discover", "Favorites" etc. categories lose all of the regular information including my saved albums and tracks and are replaced by meaningless titles, or I open the app and the instant I touch the Qobuz tab, the app disappears and all I see is the iPad's start screen again. (No similar problem with TIDAL.)
Not sure what combination of hardware/software/network issues are contributing to the continuing disappointing performance, or whether they would cease to be issues when using Roon instead of the Lumin app. Any experience that you can share would be much appreciated.
I would like to know if there is a way for the Lumin app and the D2 to work together without so many issues. Despite what I wrote in the above referenced post, I would really like to get this to work without paying extra for Roon. Have the problems listed above been reported by other users? I've changed my DNS settings, rebooted everything, power cycled everything, and still the intermittent wacky issues.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Please describe your network topology, including the brand and model of your router, WiFi access points, powerline adapters, etc.
AT&T fiber.
Router: Pace 5268AC, p/n 296-0417700.
Wifi gateway: Intertek 4006119.
Cat 6a cable from router > an older AirPort Extreme > Cat 6 to the D2.
No power line adapters in place.
The Airport had been in place for years and worked fine for wifi and ethernet to my older Apple TV, so the installer left it in the chain.
While I started off using the AT&T wireless, I found myself more often than not switching to the old wifi network from the Airport instead. Oddly enough, I get better speeds and fewer hold-ups, for who knows what reason.
Thanks for your help with this!
In the AirPort Extreme, please add a different network name SSID for 5GHz WiFi. In the iPad, please connect to the newly added 5GHz WiFi SSID.
I have difficulty finding the right details for the Intertek 4006119 - is that the access point for the "AT&T Wireless" and the same thing as "old wifi network" you mentioned?
So you have two WiFi access points? If they're not manually set to different channels (1, 6, 11) they will interfere with each other.
Please make sure only the router is running DHCP server to distribute IP addresses, and the other two WiFi access points are not distributing IP addresses. Otherwise it'll be really bad.
The Intertek is the gateway for the new AT&T U-verse wireless.
The Airport is for the network that I've been using for years.
Different log-in credentials for each.
I will check the things you mentioned after church and a couple of errands.
Thank you.
Peter, I was able to rename the network and make sure that the access points are on different channels. Not sure how to find out what all is distributing IP addresses.
I’m starting to wonder if I’d be better off simply disconnecting either the Airport and removing it from the chain completely. But there are a whole lot of settings in there that I don't even remotely understand and plenty of warnings of dire consequences if I make a mistake.
The more I figure out (Thanks for the instructions), the more confusing it becomes.
Without understanding your whole network, network devices, physical layout / distances and requirements, I'll not recommend removal of the AirPort Extreme for now.
Since your D2 is wired to the AirPort Extreme, we need to focus on that.
Please make sure your AirPort Extreme is configured as Bridge mode (so that it does not distribute IP addresses and does not perform routing function):
As the previous post stated, you need to have two different network name SSID for the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz WiFi of the AirPort Extreme.
Since your D2 is wired to the AirPort Extreme, your iPad should connect to the 5GHz WiFi of the AirPort Extreme instead of any other WiFi access points.
Note that after any reconfiguration of the AirPort Extreme, all devices connected to it (D2 and iPad) need to be rebooted.
Peter,
OK, we're making good progress. Everything is configured and rebooted as instructed, and seems to be working well. I will let you know if any of the problems return.
Thank you so much for all of the help here. You are clearly going above and beyond, providing solutions for all of my network (in addition to Lumin-specific) issues. For that, I am truly thankful!
