As much as we would like to know, if they are in digital rights negotiations, setting an expectation (beyond what's already out there), etc, will only weaken their negotiating position.... which will in turn affect pricing.Wouldn;t it be great if a U.S. representative from the company would step forward and provide a brief description of their progress and difficulties? Along with the official anticipated release based upon current implementation.
Just saying. A lot of audiophiles/music lovers are waiting.
Then they could at least come out and say that they are still in negotiations. I just don't understand why there isn't better communication with their potential customers. As much as we would like to know, if they are in digital rights negotiations, setting an expectation (beyond what's already out there), etc, will only weaken their negotiating position.... which will in turn affect pricing.
I don’t blame Qobuz for not making any public statements at this time. The only meaningful statements to be made at this point are either—
1) We are ready to launch, or
2) We changed our minds, we’re not coming after all.
Any other statement just invites more questions. Essentially, any other statement is some version of “we are still working on it,” which IMO does not need to be said. That is, unless you think they are not working on it.
Coming from a business background, I have found that keeping your customers and potential customers informed is the best way to instill a bond of trust.
When delays were explained, they were met with acceptance and understanding.
If you don't explain a delay then a persons thoughts tend to go negative.
Explanations do not need to be overly technical.
It is more in maintaining a positive level of communication that counts in gaining and keeping satisfied customers.
That is prudent for existing customers, of which there are none in the US. Unless there are potential customers who might decide to not subscribe to Qobuz because of the lack of public communication at this point, I don’t see the effort being worth avoiding the “risk.”
I have to agree with ya. If this was a US company I would say they might be throwing breadcrumbs down to keep people interested, but this is not a US company so, it appears Qubuz is just getting everything right before they drop this in the US not to mention it apepars they want to have ROON support before a release. https://parttimeaudiophile.com/2018/09/08/cedia-2018-qobuz-usa-launch-roon/
Anyone interested in trying Qobuz for 2 free months in US, post in the thread. I have 3 codes that I picked up form NY Audio Show today to give away. The code creates your account on UK servers so the do not freak out if your the expiry dates has the following format DD/MM/YYYY
@Mike, if the above is not appropriate to post in the thread, please feel free to delete and my apology in advance.

Thanks for sharing.
I would jump on it but am in the middle of packing for our winter pilgrimage to Florida as it is mandatory if you live in Michigan and retire.
