Well Quadraspire racks are awesome products. They have a naturally, live characteristic, akin to tonal qualities that you would hear at the Sydney Opera House. And now they have something new....

So how cool is this upgrade?!

I have installed the new upgrade kit on my Quadraspire SVT Sunoko rack, top shelf.

Sitting on this shelf is a HRS M3X isolation base which is specific for a McIntosh MT10 turntable.

The bronze upgrade assembly is beautifully engineered and machined. It will develop patina but can be managed by using a metal polish and recoating with lanolin oil if you so choose.

Spikes are adjustable, so there is no problem getting your decoupled shelf absolutely level or performing minor compensation adjustments allowing for component weight distribution imbalances etc. No fuss, no excuse for not having a platter that is as flat as the fifth dimension!

It will add 40mm to your shelf height. I don't won't anymore shelf height so, I will be replacing existing 180mm risers with 140mm ones. The net result is close to zero additional shelf height (depending upon spike adjustment). The photo below shows installation without the proposed riser replacement. I really love the look, construction and finish of these. It adds another touch of performance sophistication to the product.

From the manufacturer:

"The main design features of the upgrade spike assembly are the SVT curve design of the top bolt and the rounded spikes that together encourage any residual mechanical resonance to flow and dissipate more easily.

The Bronze Upgrade assembly consists of a Top Bolt and Lock nut and then a small rounded spike and smaller locknut that screws into the top bolt – The upgrade can be easily fitted to the top shelf of your rack or Wall Bracket for the benefit of the source component placed onto that shelf. Any component placed on a shelf fitted with the bronze upgrade will have a noticeable improvement.

Bronze has a broader tonal spectrum and greater sustain that opens the soundstage of your system making it more musical and enjoyable without losing detail."
