I have the same question. I wonder if that is one of the major forthcoming announcement that they refer to in the article.

I just don’t see how they can seriously compete in the us without Roon integration. I don’t know squat about the market, but just seems like many of their likely users are hooked into roon.

I've used it since last September and to me it is fine as it is currently offered. No Roon needed for me or the extra hardware required to run it.
