Hi there, is it possible to make Qobuz browsing into Lumin app as efficient as Tidal browsing. I mean is it possible to add to the possibility to sort Qobuz albums and playlists by artist, name, date added and release date ? And like you did in the Tidal tab, one would appreciate that the app remembers the last sorting option.

Lumin app depends on the service provider (API) for such operations. If there is no such (API) functionality provided by the provider, then no such function is provided by Lumin app.

Ok I understand. Does it mean that Qobuz sorting is not available neither in BluOS, Naim audio app and so on?
But the fact is that album sorting is available in the Qobuz app directly.

Some apps may do the sorting by themselves, but that's not the way Lumin app works.

Ok understood.

But why then Lumin app in android does not support tidal album sorting as iOS app lumin does ?

And is that too difficult to make lumin app do the sorting by itself ? I mean we must have the ability to sort Qobuz albums, it is pretty necessary with nowadays way to listen to music

That is correct. The Application Programming Interface (API) that Qobuz (or TIDAL, or Deezer, etc) provides to 3rd parties does not have everything that their native app has. The API evolves later than their app and eventually that functionality makes its way to the 3rd party apps (i.e. BluOS, LUMIN, Lightning DS, etc.).

Sometimes, a developer finds their own solution. Check out mConnect Player (for iPhone) or mConnect Player HD (for iPad). They are paid apps, but very cheap. Recently, they added Qobuz sorting and TIDAL “My Mix” playlists. These are features not available in *any* third party controller app. So either the APIs have evolved and they got early access to them, or they are solving the problem by implementing a solution on their own. Either way, if Qobuz sorting for favorite albums or tracks (i.e., by Artist, or by Name, or by Date Added) is something you really want, try out the mConnect Player apps. They are very good in my opinion for UPnP/DLNA control.

Cheers,

Thank you very much Mike

Yes I know mconnect apps very well. I tried them with great hope but I got some problems. The app did not recognize my Marantz ND8006 as a renderer every time. Someties the device appeared in the renderers list, sometime it disappeared. Was not very reliable. Maybe with your Lumin, you had no problem with mconnect recognizing the device each time you start the app?

Second, if I am not mistaken, mconnect app streams the music itself and then sends it back to the renderer. Am I correct?
This means that mconnect works like Airplay in a certain way. So if your phone/tablet is off, the music stops.
You have also the issues of quicker battery drains.
And you have this bug (in mconnect iOS only not in mconnect Android) of the Tidal cover art stretched in the screen instead of centered which makes it ugly.
And finally, I don't understand why the mconnect dont manage to send to the renderer the artist name metadata. It only sends the track and album names. So no artist name is displayed in the renderers front display..

No, really, I think it is better Lumin developpers figure out how to make Qobuz album sorting possible in the Lumin app.
