Well one requires extra licensing costs and "certification" and the other doesn't so I expect that at least for now DSD will continue to survive especially if all MQA has to depend on is Tidal. How long do you think the money behind Sprint will continue to prop up Tidal if they don't show the ability to make a profit If Spotify joins in with Qobuz in going in the other direction MQA may be the one on life support. The labels already have their foot in the DSD waters. Boutique manufacturers like Meridian, Aurender, MSB, and Brinkman will alone not make MQA survive as they don't sell enough units or have units in a "normal" price range. It will take the high volume DAC sales companies buying in to make MQA a success. I am not even going to discuss the sound as that is subjective and won't determine survival just like Betamax vs VHS.
