Hello,

Has anyone had a chance to compare these two Proac speakers? I had a chance to listen to the D-20R and
found it very musical and engaging but perhaps lacking a bit in transparency. I'm wondering if the D30R
is worth the extra price of admission.

Thanks

now this is an old thread but heard the d20r this week . extremely impressive speaker for the size . incredibly transparent i thought with the ribbo tweeter . real shimmer to the cymbals

hope to hear the d30r next week

also heard the new proac dt8 but as it was out of the box , not easy to do . at the price , with wood veneer i think the dt8 is amazing vfm as it sells the same as equivalent stuff made in china here in uk

beautiful finish and big sound filling the room . apparently the dt8 is selling very well

I've had the pleasure to use the D30R in my system for almost a month.. I liked the highs (and that's from an ex-Raidho owner) and the mids but wasn't very pleased with the bass of these loudspeakers. It wasn't on the same level with the highs and mids - not very detailed, not very precise... Also not very fast either (yeah, I know, I'm comparing them with Raidho's and Triangle's which are pretty fast by any standard). Other than that, the ProAC's were neutral, managed to sing classical music with some dignity and their ribbon tweeter was clearly superior to other solutions at this price. Speaking of ribbon tweeters (AMT and other unusual tweeters) I would also recommend Elac speakers... Great bang for the buck!
