Since this thread has already been derailed:
"Amazon's shares jumped after company reported better-than-expected profits late on Thursday and said it was hiking the price of its annual U.S. Prime subscriptions by 17%."
Glad I am a shareholder but not a Prime subscriber. I wonder how much the raise in the rate will be offset by losing subscribers due to the increase.
Amazon Prime is going to $139/yr...in my mind, its still a steal vs what i get out of my sub.
most of the brands i am familiar with are doing Q1 price increases it seems around the 7-15% range. some more.
my guess is half is supply side and labor expense, half is a strong consumer market driving demand for luxury goods and recreation related products.....and the buying power of a dollar has diminished.
OTOH used resale values for the "right" gear is also strong.
