I have been a "photographer" since the mid 80s and have to say your pictures are stunning. First in every successful picture is composition and yours are as good as I have seen of the part of the country that is my favorite. I bought a place in NW Montana so I visit and hike these areas often.

Also, while many "purists" get turned off by the "heavy" post-processing many have adopted to enrich their pictures, yours are really right on target. I truly enjoy looking at these.

I also know the time and patience it takes to get those shots you are posting and it is no easy task especially for OCD people like most of us are, so kudos to you.

As for me, no matter how much I "know" about photography, I suck. Composition is something you can teach to a point but beyond that it is truly an "art". One of my best buddies, may he RIP who was a surgeon, if you met him, you would think he was dumb as brick, which he was anything but. We could be driving down the FL turnpike and he say, "Howie pull off" then pull out his Leica and I would look at him like he was crazy and a few days later after he emerged from his dark room was this incredible composition of the mangle of trestles of the tpke under construction at the then Joe Robbie Stadium. His pictures hang in all the bars out in the 4 corners as well as in my home in Montana.

Conrgats.

Stunning dog. I love Goldens, have two now, usually have three but my amazing Jeter passed away from hemeangiosarcoma this past Jan. We have had 4 others prior to these two and I can look at these fellows/gals all day long.

Beautiful block head and stance. Great coat. I'm sure he/she has a personality to die for.

My belief is that there are two types of people, those that LOVE dogs and those that don't. All the other classifications by race, politics, etc don't matter in this context. Secondly, we would be a much better world if Goldens ran the world stage.

What a nice compliment - Thanks!
Photography, like all art forms, can be subjective and I understand this.
Ansel Adams once said, "You don't take a photograph, you make a photograph."

Got myself a treat to get into taking pictures. Not aiming for the same level, as some of the artists on this thread though. Just to enjoy photography.

It is a very simple tool, but very compact. And they still make the best lenses.

Back from 8 days tent camping in Big Bend National Park.
This is an infra-red photograph of San Elena Canyon on the Rio Grande, shot at dawn.
