Thanks for posting! Great review. I love my Lumin!!!

Mike, it was hard choosing between the Aurender and Lumin. I hope I didn't make an error, because I really like the A1 + L1 combo. If I was able to connect the L1 to the A1 directly, I would have been sold. Beautiful machine.

In any case, glad you represent both manufactures and happy to float the biz your way :)

Thanks Dave. If you want to play with different DAC's, the Aurender is the way to go. If you want a set-it-and-forget-it digital front end, then the Lumin A1/S1 + L1 is the way to go. But they both need to be on your network. Not a big deal really.

Can you feed the Aurender into your MCD1100?

After returning the PS Audio DS DAC, I have some money burning a hole in my pocket. Since I currently have an Auralic Vega DAC I was looking to that review to give me some guidance because at the start he said he would compare the S1 to the Auralic, but then never mentioned it again. Oh well.

I have two questions about the S1.

1. Can the front panel be turned off?
2. Can a playlist have PCM and DSD mixed, and the Lumin will switch between them with no intervention?

Thanks.

Mike, as far as I know, I can usb feed the Aurender into both the MCD1100 and C2500. Additionally, I do have the D100 on standby too.

Yes and yes Bud. No problems. In the app, you turn off the display. As for PCM to DSD and back and forth and back and forth - no problem. Works flawlessly. All my playlists are a complete mix. Seamless.

Very cool! Then the Aurender makes more sense if you want to utilize the D100 and MCD1100.

Darn, I feel an S5 déjà vu coming on. One more important question I forgot. My Bryston BDP-1 is fed with a USB attached drive. It appears the S1 will also do that, but I would like to verify that, since I have spent quite a bit of time ripping to these drives.
