Pool deck sound system, advice needed.

Hi everyone, new to the forum and looking for some good suggestions. I have a large pool with surrounding patio space. I want to install weatherproof speakers around the perimeter of the pool at ground level, pointed toward the house (approx 30'). I already have 6 grounded outlets spaced evenly around the area, ready to use. I do not want to run speaker wires anywhere if possible, nor am I interested in lights or solar powered features. Just good sound. I would like to play music from a Bluetooth device over these speakers.

I need help deciding which product is best suited for this application and need to know:

1. Can I pair multiple speaker sets without signal issues?
2. Do I need some type of dedicated wireless receiver for this?
3. Can anyone recommend the right product for this situation?

I think the problem that you are going to run into for what you're looking for is this: amplifiers and electronics don't do well left out in the elements. So for a permanently mounted outdoor speaker system, active/powered solutions just aren't typically used and to my knowledge there aren't many. All the permanently mounted outdoor speaker systems I've had and have personally seen have passive speakers which are wired to some sort of source/multizone amplifier that is located inside with various manufacturer apps that allow it to be controlled from a mobile device.

You can find powered "outdoor" bluetooth speakers, such as these Amazon.com but if you read closer and check out some of the reviewes, they are meant to be in some sort of protected installation and even then have reliability issues.

Others that know better may chime in, but that's my knowledge and experience with this application.

FWIW, I have four pairs of passive Sonance Mariner speakers outside in my pool area which (as the name implies) are built to withstand the elements and have been rock solid and sound quite good for what they are.
 
Not what you were looking for but for another option look at the JBL Party Box, different models and the more expensive unit has wheels so you can roll it away when the party is over.
 
Thank you very much for the reply. After reading your post, and digging down that hole a little, I believe I'll just go with passive speakers, running back to a dedicated amp with BT functionality. The other options seem like they wouldn't work like I had envisioned. Much appreciated!

I just finished a pool system and broke it up into two zones. I usually find myself sitting in the cabana or on the other side of the yard by the fire pit. I used 2 inexpensive digital amps from Amazon and 2 chrome cast audio’s from eBay. This way I have more than just Bluetooth. The chromcast’s do tidal Connect, Spotify connect and Roon. I can combine the zones if i want whole yard coverage too. Running the wires is a drag but it’s the better way to go. The little digital amps have Bluetooth but I have not tried it. Also you will need strong Wi-Fi signal in the yard for this type setup.
