Polk RTA 8TL compared to Yamaha NS-777?

I own and love my Polk RTA 8TL speakers, but have an opportunity to pick up a pair of Yamaha NS-777.
Information about these Yamaha speakers is all over the place (good & bad).
Will they sound as good as the Polks?

PS: please don't suggest other speakers to buy, as that is not my question.

Sorry to hear you feel that way. I only suggested it because of the range of gear you are asking about. The majority there are either Vintage or Mass Market Gear owners. I doubt many here have heard them but maybe someone will chime in. I guess you would have to listen side by side and decide if you want to stay in that price range.
