PMC 26 v Sonus Faber Olympica 2

Note that both the 23 and 26 have a tipped up treble on axis, they should be positioned firing straight ahead for a flat response, no toe-in.

I did did read this somewhere but I much preferred them toed in to be honest

Or me to give you, my opinion...of what to expect, upgrade wise; and/or, maybe sell you my as-new 26s? ;)

Usa may prove a slight problem there. :hey:Really lookimg forward to hearing your thoughts though. I can't see the 23s touching the 26s though

I am from the home of PMC, well not the city, but from England

Still waiting to get the 26s on home demo but the Olympicas are really really good now. They are so smooth with all types of music. They may lack a bit of accuracy that the PMCs have but I am starting to wonder if that really matters. They certainly seem more forgiving to me. The treble is so sweet it's becoming a bit addictive.
Black Uhuru - Guess who's coming to dinner on tonight and it sounds so sweet. Just so enjoyable.

I have heard nothing but good things about the ATCs, but I could not live with their looks I am afraid. I have to have them in my main living room so no good for me

Had a pair of black scm 19s gen 1 and loved them. Wish I still had them. Damn it! ATCs are great IMO. Still prefer PMCs for all-rounders, but ATC speakers provide jaw dropping accuracy and clarity.

Bet you'd love a pair of dynaudio confidence c2s. My guess that would give you the best of what you like from both the SFs and the PMCs.

Great suggestion. C2 sigs are fantastic. Love the build quality and finishes too.

Thanks for all the posts guys very helpful as always. However at some point you have to stop auditioning and buy
I am at that point now. The PMCs will be here soon and I will decide between them and the Olympicas.
The Dynaudios suggested above are in another price bracket so are a non starter I am afraid.

Still waiting for CDLehner to get his 23s though as would love to hear his thoughts.

I'm close to canceling

So sorry to hear this Chris :(....but this may be a blessing in disguise.

Not for me I was keen to hear the comparison :D
think I am getting my demo 26s in the next couple of weeks or so . Guess I will then be able to make a decision.
in my room I have had a problem with the treble in the past, the Olymoicas excel in this area for me , so sweet and smooth.

I can sort of compare what I am hearing right now with a similar situation I had last summer when I was demoing headphones. I loved the HD800 and they were a massive step up from my old AKGs. However sometimes they were a little bit bright with the treble. A little harsh for my tastes. However I then got the HE1000 on demo and they had everything the HD800 had but without the brightness. They seemed a lot more smoother and definitely more enjoyable.
I loved the look and style of the HD800, but sound wise the HE1000 just made the music more enjoyable in my opinion.

Sort of how I am seeing things now with the speakers

Up to my dealer. I'm giving him a hard deadline today; offer up info, that says they'll be here by this time next week...or

Well...I hated to do it; but I had to resort, to a little a$$-kicking. Looks like the 23s, should be here next week :|

Sometimes...the squeaky wheel, does get the grease.

Good news

Womaz,

Have you ever tried bass traps in your room corners? Maybe that would tighten up the Olympica 2's bass and then everything would be just perfect.

I took advice from GIK Acousitics last year and I have a couple of bass traps on the back wall. Can't get then in the corners due to my room
