Please Recommend a Duplex Receptacle

So I have it narrowed it down to the 20A Audioquest NRG Edison and the Shunyata CopperConn outlets. I’ll start with 3 for my 2 Channel system. One for each amp and one to plug in my Denali 6000s V2. The rest of the outlets will be Hubbell’s.

Has anyone compared the Edison and the CopperConn?

Hello

My vote is the Copper Conn for the Denali unless you can $ swing 3 and consider a Shunyata power cable for the Denali when you can.

I have a couple of shunyata zr71 I’ll sell you. I used Hubble hospital grade and put the Furitech covers on them in my room. The folks at Shunyata said the hubble’s are very good.

Thanks Bob but I decided to go with the Shunyata CopperConn’s and cryo’d Hubbell outlets. :snicker:

I am interested to have dedicated lines in my listening room, too. I may consider Shunyata, Cardas, Furutech duplex. What wire and guage size would you recommend to run from the duplex to the main breaker panel (approximately 30 ft)?

Southwire brand Romex® is the real deal, it's not a generic NM-B (Non- metallic) copy. The three conductors are held in correct alignment.
Bill Whitlock of Jensen Transformers (retired) tested it,and it worked great. There was another test of generic and it didn't.
Plus it's what Hone Depot and Lowe's sells.

Hi gang, semi-new guy here. (I joined some years ago, but haven't posted much.)

Poignant thread...

I recently ran a direct line from the panel to my listening room - Southwire 12/3 MC cable and used the better Leviton "industrial heavy duty" 20A outlets - nice, firm grip with a positive "click-in-place" feel when inserting plugs. A very big improvement for my system power - noise floor is significantly lowered and there's a superb enhancement in low-level system resolution. My ears are happy!

I'm considering next the inevitable outlet upgrade, and budget suggests the Sunyata SR-Z1 will be the best option for now. Anybody have experience with these? I know they're the "entry level" sockets from Shunyata, but at $100/ea, they fit the budget better than the other upgrades available. Any feedback is appreciated - thanks!

I have been using the SR-71 outlets on 3 dedicated 20 amp lines for years now, and am very happy with them.

I've been using mine for about 9-10 years now. Unreserved recommendation. Made an notable and audible improvement; your best bet in this price range. Just as importantly, they are also durable with respect to use. Give 'em about 2 days to burn in.

At some point when the budget allows, I'll upgrade to the new CopperCONN outlet.

I appreciate the responses, gents, particularly the long-term use testimonials. These will definitely be on the radar when the motivation strikes.
