Using a similar line-up as at CES 2013, the public show premiere of the Playback Designs' IPS-3 ($13,000), which contains a remote controlled amplifier/preamplifier/DAC with USB input that can handle up to 384kHz PCM and 6.1MHz DSD, paired with Evolution Acoustics MMMicroOne loudspeakers with integrated stands ($4000/pair), sounded very solid and musical on a big band selection. I would have stayed longer, but rather than interrupt an intense conversation, I added this room to my “next show wish list.”

There ought to be a big segment of the market that would want this. If you have appealing design (Devialet and Wadia) and you are not a consummate audiophile seeking to upgrade every month, then this should make sense for the "lifestyle" market while still delivering audiophile quality sound. Keeps the missus happy because these are sleek-looking (well the Devialet and Wadia are...not sure about the PD's looks :D) one-box deals and keeps Mr. audiophile happy because he is getting good sound. Maybe it makes sense as you are doing it it Mike in a non-dedicated family room in the second system where everyone can enjoy it and you can still go up to the dedicated rig whenever you want.

And - easy to use for you know who. Not sure what I will do with all that free shelf space if I get one!
