When is this ever NOT the case? IMHO, almost all the albums up through The Wall sound best in this recent release. Some are older masterings; DSOTM is the 2011 mastering which sounds marginally better than the 2003 SACD stereo layer, but there are many many different pressings and masterings of this and most people have their preferences. WYWH is another album with many many different digital versions; I like this the best of the stereo versions but can easily understand why some would prefer a different one and they are mostly more similar than different. But for The Wall, Animals, Meddle, AHM, Obscurred, Saucerful, etc these newest ones are really tops.

I put ‘Meddle’ on for background music and it pulled me in. One of my biggest disappointments with my first hifi system compared to my party stereo was how much better Pink Floyd sounded before the upgrade, been a long time coming.
