uh oh, looks like I opened up a can of worms on myself. Yes, you probably should not have sent that chart. Now I'm further confused by that whole baseline percentage thing and I'm guessing I'd want something that says A or W on the end. (Not to be confused with A&W. If it says that on the end it's rootbeer which is mighty tasty, but not on electronics). I wouldn't want military grade, that much is certain. So there's more of a radio frequency noise possibility with tubes than with solid state? Not that I'm worried about that, just trying to get educated.Do a little research on 12AX7 type tube amps.
The hookup would be TT to the Yaqiin to the receiver as line level in (like aux, cd, etc.) not phono
Its not gain as much on the tube types and I probably should not have sent that chart - much of the match is new tubes as opposed to the older tubes.
a 12AX7 is the baseline, say 100%. If its a 5751, that's about 90% but the sound is very very good. An A or W on the end is very low microphonics (low noise) such as a 12AX7A or 12AX7WA (military grade).
Those cheap metal shields as you called them can be expensive. They are designed to keep any noise causing radio frequency interference from vacuum tubes in electronic circuits.
Hope this helps in the quest !!!

Basically,
Unless you wish to open a can of worms with tubes...stick with Solid State...LOL
No really, you could go with the Yaqin and stick with the original tubes and be quite happy. For us antsy guys, we (me) have tried at least 15 types of the 12AX7 type tubes to get the "right sound" and have spent anywhere from $30 a pair to $300 a pair...
NOT for the faint of heart...LOL
