Phison Audio PD2 Preamp/DAC

Your going to have to contact Mike directly through his own website.

I think Mike / Mivera is no longer involved with them, they probably found out the man is as passionate with audio as he is about getting banned from forums.

I have installed the Phison Dac into my system replacing the $10K Rockna WaveDream Bal $10K Dac. The Rockna was the best sounding Dac I have had in my listening room. Within 24 hours the Phison Dac was so much better that I was dumb founded trying to figure out how this could possibly be. Lower noise floor better bass more info off the recording better mids the same highs and soundstage height and width.

I really though I was hearing the $17K Rockna Ref as that is what I would have expected had I installed
That Dac vs the Phison.

Ok so this Dac is crazy great and because it is a no name and one Mooney review it sits in the shadows of the highly reviewed $20K dacs that probably does not sound as organic Nor dead quiet !

What a find boys and girls !!!

Have the Amp coming next week for a hear. Can it beat my EAR 890 with Ei KT 90 tubes???

Gary, I am glad you are enjoying it. Sonny Anderson is a grade A engineer and worked very hard on that piece. Pop the top and its a meticulous work of art. That iteration of the PD2 is primarily a DSD dac with a bypass design that makes it essentially "chipless." I transitioned to a Phison-based, tube-free system due to small critters (previously I had the Lampizator GG and Viva Solista), and I can honestly attest to the fact that the PD2 spit out organic sounding digital that was at least as good as the GG although I had different speakers as well with my tubed rig (Mosaic Illuminations) vs. Trenner & Friedl Pharaohs so who knows. The take home message is its an excellent dac/pre/phonostage.

I sold for non-audio reasons. My loss is clearly Gary's gain....

As an aside, the only reason the Rokna sells well here in the US and the PD2 does not is in part due to the reviews by the Swiss Miss at 6Moons. Sadly, it was not setup properly (despite being told so) and the bulk of the review was done in PCM mode and not DSD. Even the addendum with DSD was not done correctly. I used Roon/HQP to upsample to 256 DSD.....
