We have used credit card and writing check to purchase audio gears. Now people also use the Paypal Credit to fund the purchase. When we first apply for Paypal Credit, our credit was checked and reported to credit bureau and we have a credit line. Paypal offers 6 month no interest. If we use this option to purchase high value audio gears, we will have more time to pay. Would Paypal run a credit check again for every transaction line this and report to our credit history? If that is the case, Paypal Credit might hurt our credit. Some of us like to swap gears as we most likely do in this hobby to experience the new flavor of a component. If we keep using Paypal Credit to fund for upgrading gears, we would have a long list of Paypal Credit activity in our credit history, and it may impact our credit score. We don't normally swapping cars, home purchases, or applying for a dozen of credit cards. But we may upgrade audio gears like weekly/monthly/annually and it might hurt our credit history if Paypal report everything.
I'm not sure if Paypal report everything or only the first time. I do believe if we default or delinquent, it will be reported. Paypal Credit may not help us to improve our credit but it comes in handy when we have an itch for upgrading.
