Whenever I post one of these entries, there are at least a couple of readers who ask for reviews of the albums I’ve listed. And while such requests are quite reasonable, they take for granted that I’ve actually listened to all of these albums. Sadly, I have not.

Even sadder, I still haven’t listened to the albums I bought last payday.

Still, I have purchased these albums. Which means that, for one reason or another, I found them interesting enough to spend money on them, and I do intend to listen to them at some point down the line. Whenever possible, I’ve included links to artist or label pages, where you, too, can sample the sounds and stories behind the music, and decide whether the albums are worth your time and money.

I make these lists for a few reasons:
1. I enjoy making these lists.
2. They help me remember what albums I’ve purchased.
3. They provide a sort of graphical representation of my musical interests.
4. I think the album art is often attractive.
5. I want to provide some exposure to artists who otherwise might go overlooked by our readers, and, similarly, provide our readers with some interesting music they may have otherwise overlooked.
6. I hope you find something here that you like, and that you, in turn, will tell me about something, similar or dissimilar, that you like.

So: Today’s payday. These are the albums I bought.

Re: Payday Albums: 4/12/13 & 4/26/13

I used to go to my local favorite music store every week, and for many years.
And I stayed there for hours on hand listening to music through headphones.
But very quick, skipping some tracks, and stopping on others...

I listened to all music genres (Blues, Jazz, Classical, Folk, Alternative, World, ...).

When I was done listening, I went to the cashier and paid for all the ones I like.
Every week like that; between $200 and $500 of new CDs.

When I was only between twelve and sixteen; I went to my Woolworth store, and I bought an album (LP) every week.

I've been reading audio and music mags (from all over) since the late sixties, and many music selections that I purchased were recommended in those mags.
I never stopped doing what I've been doing all my life; reading, listening, and the ritual of purchasing what were my references.

It is in my blood and has always been. It is a major part of you I am.

At my still relatively young age now (58), I listened to Classical music way more as it perfectly suits my soothing moods of every life's moments.
...From solo piano, or cello, to Chamber music, to the full Orchestral 'temper', and Operas and Chorales.

Music is the essence of all the audio gear of the world.
Without it there wouldn't be any audio reviewers and writers.

Some of my music selections are in the Music threads.
Some will be exposed eventually.
And others I just listen to without telling no one.
...Like right now for example. ...Listening to Classical solo p.i.a.n.o., just for me, and that is just fine too.
