I am currently using an old B&K Pro10MC pre through its tape outs into my XP-20 and it is time to move on to a dedicated phono pre. I'm looking to find something that I can grow with - I would like to upgrade from my Traveler/2M Bronze next year and not have to replace the phono-pre. I think I can find a used XP-15 for around the same price as a new Parasound. I know there are some great tube units in the same price range (Manley Chinook, Allnic) but I am not interested in dealing with tubes, so I would like to stick with solid state units.
Have any sharks compared these two? I am looking for something to the warm side of neutral and think the Pass may be a better fit. Let me know what you think.
