So Michael. what is your PASS Xs150s lacking to make you want to audition other amps? I guess I’m lucky that my XA160.5s are doing everything I want in playback performance.

The Xs, IMO, lack nothing and leave me wanting nothing. Thus far, I've not heard amps more agreeable with my tastes that can play everything so well. But, I haven't listened to everything.

I would like to know how other amp pairings perform with the S5s. Basically, if there's magic nearby, I'd like to find it. All pieces will be auditioned in my home to ensure they work in my system. Don't worry, it'll take quite the performance to have me leave the Pass train :rolleyes:.
 
David Baskin is probably the best person (and dealer) to weigh one brand vs the other, particularly when paired with Magico, but I'm very happy with my Soulution gear. But as Jim said, their products are much more expensive than those from Pass.

Michael, it doesn't sound like you plan on moving on from your Xs150s any time soon, and why would you, but, do yourself a favor and try the Xs Pre amp in your system. The XP30 is very good but I think you'll be very surprised at what you'll hear with the Xs pre and the Xs 150s together.

That's what I've heard also. I'm pushing my Pass dealer to pick one up for me to demo but no dice so far. My wheels are turning...albeit slowly.
 
I do have a bunch of new gear coming and the S5's will be the primary speaker used. This is something that definitely needs to be demoed at home. I can miss completely on what I hear compared to others. Just ask Jock, he tripped me up bad the other day.
