Been using my iPhone for Media Control App to operate my Oppo 103D, mostly for Tidal and Netflix. I have two iPads at home, but neither could serve as the dedicated controller that I want as my wife regularly uses both. Would like another pad, but I am gradually trying to get out of the Apple-verse. Anyone having good luck using another product with Android OS as a controller?

Let me know in case you discover something, I am also getting bored with Apple in general and fed up with the continuous attempts to monitor and control users.

Will do. Tired of Apple for the same reasons and, on top of that, their products don't work that great either. I get billed $.99 every month for their Cloud Service that I did not request and don't want, I think it automatically triggered when my granddaughter maxed out her internal storage. It's only a buck and not worth the hassle to get something done about it, but take that $.99 and multiply it by about a billion iPhone owners...

Similarly, traveling to another country for business today Apple sent a message to my phone to confirm my whereabouts, even though I did not use any Apple services at that point in time. This Apple ID request blocked all other services on the phone, trying to force a response.

For such an intrusion I happily throw my Apple products out. Really strong privacy invasion IMHO.

I have a couple of Android Tablets besides a couple of iPad minis. On the Oppo BDP-93 (and 95), they never did an IOS App so if one wants to control those, an Android Tablet is needed. I used the 93 in the bedroom system (until I got the 203 and rotated a second 103D in there) and now have it in the upstairs bonus room. I picked up a cheap Nuvision Android Tablet at Sam's Club a couple of years ago. I also have a cheap Insignia brand one. I only have used them for the 93 and have JRemote on one of them for a secondary system. They work fine. Someone I know picked up an RCA Android Tablet at Walmart for $60 I believe.

Thanks! I also have an Amazon Fire TV on that system and, since I also have Amazon Prime, a Fire HD would seem like a likely choice and they’re pretty cheap too.

I have a couple of Amazon Fire tablets that I have exclusively dedicated to run my remotes. They will be on sale in Amazon this Friday (if not already). These Amazon tablets can run all Android apps after doing a few tweaks.

Ok, went ahead and ordered a Fire HD 8 last weekend for $50. Seems to be working fine now that I’ve found my old playlists, the software was no help at all, in fact it steered me in the wrong direction. Sure is a lot easier to tap and swipe than my iPhone 6S+, very easy to control.
