Hello sharks!

I recently got a new turntable for my Family Room system. I needed something low-profile (read: small footprint) and after also considering the Clearaudio Concept, I ended up going with the Pro-Ject RM 5.1 SE.

This has the 9cc carbon-fiber tonearm for which Oracle makes a "damping" modification, which is in use on thier Paris turntable, as Art Dudly discussed in this column a few years ago: Listening #106 | Stereophile.com. There is also a thread over on Vinyl Engine: Oracle silicone damping kit for 9cc arms - Vinyl Engine but it really only one person's experience, and is mostly a discussion about its availibility (or lack thereof) outside North America.

Anyone use this arm with this damping device? It's not an expensive accessory, but I'm not keen to bother with the time/effort if it's a moot point. What say you?

I'm using a Nagaoka MP-500 cartridge.
