Optical vs Digital (coax)

I had a cheap DAC I was playing with some time ago. I generally preferred glass optical on it until I installed a pulse transformer on the digital coax input. Then there was just no comparison, the coax was miles better. A pulse transformer should be a no brainer on any DAC input these days. It made that big a difference.
