I guess my email to Oppo HQ for a Silver version finally paid off. :D :woot:

......it doesn't seem like it's available for the 103 yet. Time to retire my 970H?

US$1199.

So sad, this is for US Customer's only!

Quote from website:

Color: Black. The BDP-105 is also available in Silver.

Note: This product is designated for North American Customers Only.

As you may know Jerry......this is usually the other way around :( :(....ie. Marantz,Denon etc. doesn't send their Silver/Champagne units to the US market.

If I can help you out on a Silver version...let me know......don't know what to do about the voltage difference though.

Thanks for the kind offer. I would not know how to make the voltage change on this. So, the only way is to NAG the local distributor/importer to do his due diligence and hopefully not too far into the year, the Silver would appear here too. I am not a in rush to change over from my current Oppo 95 which is serving me well. As I am now embarking on rebuilding (actually, a better word for ITCHING FOR A CHANGE), I am taking my time evaluating the various gears in front of me at the shops. I have kinda slow down/mellowed in the speed I part with my gears and monies, guess age must be catching up and I had grown wiser by my wife's lectures.

Still, nice thought on your part. Thanks so much for the kind consideration.

Looks great! Thanks for the heads-up. I was not aware of this option. Glad I waited... Still very happy with my 95 and my region-free 103, though. I'll probably keep waiting for the inevitable BDP-115! :)

You're welcome Jerry...:D

Jerry, as far as I know oPPo's players are voltage switching, I could be wrong but my 95 has a voltage switch on the back for 115/230.

Oh Bzr,

You just sent a flutter to my heart. Really? If so, then the part mentioned as only for North America does not apply anymore. Buy in USA can be "converted". I'll go check. Meanwhile, told my local guy to STOP on the just ordered 105 (as I have sold my 95 to a friend).

Thanks for the tip.

Cheers

This is the latest I know, the Silver Oppo BDP105EU can be bought from UK. Its on the official UK Oppo Website!

Now, I will check how much it costs to ship one over, with multi-region DVD as well as multi-code Bluray (or is it the other way round??).

Still an exciting information to know.

Yes, the Oppo BDP-105 (Silver) comes with a red voltage switch on its back panel.
And this is a world power supply: Voltage range from 100-120V and 200-240V.

* And yes you have the BDP-105EU (Silver) available for the European market (continental/international).
And that voltage switch is also available on the 103, 95, 93, and previous models as well.

I believe Jeff of A/V Solutions carries the Oppo line....Check him out if you haven't done before.
