Opinions re Convergent Audio Technology

I've heard great things about CAT amps and preamps but haven't seen them around much. I hear their 120 wpc JL-5 amp will drive any speakers with authority. And their latest SL1 Renaissance preamp is supposed to be fabulous as well.

What say you about this company's products?

I met Ken Stevens at AXPONA and he seemed quite nice and knowledgeable.
 
Heard lots of good things about them. Love the looks of the amplifiers. Would be great if they had a website.
 
Over priced now compared to competitors. Longevity concerns about a one man show. Ken Shindo anyone?
 
I like CAT sounds, but the heat on the amps is another thing.

His preamp used to be a bargain - but as Mike said, the price has really gotten up there.
