Massey Hall isn't too bad either.

Much better than Massey Hall. Though digital, also better sounding than Massey. Wish it had really been issued in pure analog.

That said, I really prefer the somewhat lighter versions of his songs from After the Gold Rush here than on the actual release. ATGR can get a little leaden.

Interesting. I have both on vinyl and much prefer Massey Hall sonically. I will have to give Live at the Cellar Door another listen.

I thought Massey sounded really digital, thin and cold. Haven't though, heard it recently. But it's like Neil is right in front of you on the Cellar Door with the Audia Flight and Verios cables. Much less digital sounding. I can only imagine how much more info there is on the analog tape.

Be interested what you think when you relisten.

Heresy I say man! Heresy! Seriously, I need to buy Live at the Cellar Door and check it out if you say it's that good.

You'll love his version of Cinnamon Girl as well as Only Love Can Break Your Heart and Tell Me Why.

Interesting. Massey Hall was one of the first LPs that I used to demonstrate how good analog was - it kills the CD. I also love the album.

When I got LIve at the Cellar Door I was immediately disapointed at the sonics and sort of filed it away.

When I have time I'll give them both another spin.

Yes they're next door! :)

For me, they are. Normally whatever I order one day is sitting on my door the next. Since this is Christmas, we will see. Speaking of undependable...Fed Ex in Terre Haute screwed me over yet again. My KT-150s were supposed to have been delivered on Thursday. I get home Thursday and no tubes. I check my tracking number and it says the delivery was rescheduled for Friday. I come home yesterday and no tubes. I check my tracking number and Fed Ex in Terre Haute gamed the system as they always do when they don't feel like driving to my house. They said delivery was attempted and no one was home or the business was closed which was nonsense. When Fed Ex attempts delivery and you aren't home, they put a sticky note on your door so you know they were really there. In this case of course that didn't happen. More importantly, this package doesn't require a signature so it wouldn't have mattered if I was home or not. I have called and complained to Fed Ex so many times about their Terre Haute office that I thought they had my name up on their wall as a person not to pull their nonsense on. My usual delivery driver quit so now I have a new guy to break-in.
