On April 8, 2014 ... Is the World coming to an end!

XP will be just fine as long as you aren't connected to the internet.

XP and WIN 7 are the two most stable OS Microsoft has developed. XP doesn't use the entire computers resources to run the operating system either. WIN 7 is a bit more of a hog and VISTA and WIN8 run out of resources by booting up.

Apple is definitely the way to go. I have been an Apple user for almost twenty years and I have to say, I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks, and I don't like what they did with it.

Mine is bit of both so I ain't worry ;)

Mircosucks will not support XP after April 8. That means you will be subject to internet attack by malware, security attacks and viruses.

I wonder if on April 8 they will have one last support update or if that's the date when they just say "screw you."

Keep your XP machine. Buy a new Windows 7 machine with the potential to upgrade to Windows 9. i.e. a Windows 8.1 hardware compliant machine running W7.

Anti-virus softwares will still be effective. ...The point is mute.

Two computers? Of course, reasonable alternative; one that is already reality.

Thx Mike. ...Get rid of Java, and get rid of Internet Explorer.
...Back up your files (memory USB 64GB stick, or separate 1TB hard drive, or in the "clouds", or two of them for double backup).

I think I'm going to make the move over to Apple.
Barry

I am shopping for a new machine right now, and all my options are wide open; Apple and Microsoft.
I will physically test the machines, and talk with experts. ...Then I'll put my money in the best wisdom side.

After my choice I will make sure to make my mission in life to destroy all enemies in the pursuit of peace in the world. ;)
I will only look back ahead.

So, how is that different from what you are doing now?

1. It's humor. ...A big part of me.

2. Never in my life I offended someone, NEVER! ...It's all in the mind of sick people.

3. I am one of the most lovely and peaceful person on this planet, period! :)

P.S. It's just so funny to read all the pros and cons from both sides (Apple & Microsoft), and how some people take themselves so not seriously at all. ...Just like in stereo hi-fi.
