15 Worst Audiophile Snake Oil Products That Break the Laws of Physics but Still Sell in 2026

I remember when Radio Shack sold regular red colored display LED alarm clocks to improve the audio...

aside:
in my opinion, seems that some audiophiles listen to the equipment, instead of the music...

A hot mess of popups and ads. Nothing but excessive click bait. Don't waste your time trying to read anything.

Ahhhh, one of my all time favorites..........'audio fool fuses'. I remember the clown from Synergistic Research peddling that nonsense

That site gets attention by posting this type stuff and it's working. I have a friend who is an EE he tells me cables, power cords etc. don't make any difference but he consistently refuses my invitation to bring some over to try. Is he afraid he learns he is wrong he can't continue banging the gong? Some see how popular ASR is and want on the bandwagon. They've found there are plenty of consumers willing to remain ignorant. It costs nothing in most instances to just try for yourself too many are like my friend the EE.

If I try something and it works I'm convinced and no one is going to unconvince me no matter how much you talk. It's basic economics if you put out a product and it don't work you don't stay in business. You are the fool trying to push mass hysteria.

I don't use Synergistics and not a fan of Ted. I will say he is at the shows demonstrating his products work. If someone don't hear a difference or enough to warrant the price then move on. I normally see people lining up to buy what they have just witnessed.

When traveling salesmen sold snake oil they were gone the next day. Almost all tweak products have a return policy, the company is still there. So you want to say a company can stay in business by pushing a placebo effect? It don't work that way. In fact, it's amazing some of the companies do remain in business despite the nay sayers and negative comments. I remember at least one audio company that went under based off of a bad review. I suggest to you to think about just why are these companies still in business? Am I missing something?

Ok Professor Peabody, you can spend your money any way you want. Just be sure you save enough to buy more Kool-Aid ;)

Been reading/hearing the same tired old crap for years.
Some things cannot be explained, or even tested by our current methods, but can be heard, if your ears and system are up to it.

ozzy

I always use this as an example: there is no scientific way to measure love. Yet we all know it exists and is true.

ASR dissed my amp! (I love the thing), and then they go on to say DACs are DACs and make no difference. The differences are so blatantly obvious to my ears.
Can we measure or somehow quantify soundstage width / depth / height, or separation of instruments, or the reverb of a real space - with some microphone and software? I don't know but I doubt it. - and I hear it.

You give no logical argument, no real world experience of your own, a typical troll like response. Unfortunately, typical of your kind.

Kid, you do have issues, my response was directly to the topic of this thread. As for real world experience, LMAO, I've been around this hobby for decades and know full well where one's money is best spent.

Maybe have your friend look at the engineering-based innovations / patents and improvements made in sound quality and transmission of signals over wires from Bell Labs / ATT on up through the years.
