With all the hype of Tidal, Apple etc.., Spotify meets all my streaming needs. I use a ModWright DAC to stream Spotify through my McBook Pro USB. I can upsample to 192 if I want to. And next week I will try a blu-ray palyer w/Spotify using coax. rca. I tried Tidal and directy compared it to Spotify and in all honesty, no difference unless I meditated for 1 hour before a serious listening session in the lotus position :P. It is free or the premium is only $10 a month. Nice selection, graphics and even lyrics with the songs played. Well done Spotify.

I subscribe to both Spotify and Tidal. Yes Tidal sounds better, if I concentrate.

Tidal still has work to do on the user interface. Spotify is much more user friendly and pleasing to my taste.

Some have written Tidal's obituary. I will wait and decide later. I spend time on both but I build my playlists on Spotify. If Tidal is viable long term, then I will import playlists from Spotify.

I'm the cynic here.

I don't believe that most listeners cannot tell the difference in the audio quality. C'mon once the music starts playing it's all fun!

Spotify is one of the better products for streaming. Streaming audio comes down to the ease of use and integration into our individual lifestyles.

Additionally, users of Spotify have a host of social features; sharing the music they are listening to (and enjoying) with those who follow or are interested in same or new music.

My personal favorite feature of Spotify is to integrate all my personally owned music with the Spotify streaming library. Further, when I connect my iPhone via USB and launch the Spotify App, then sync the music that's in my library and Spotify's for Offline Music playing (Saves on mobile data).

Still, for every feature that Spotify has, Apple Music, Google Play Music and a few others match.

Enjoy!

BTW it Soundiiz doesn't do well with 100+ long playlists. The accuracy I have found is 85-90% but it helps with making the leap from your old service to Tidal.

I was just about to chime in with this set-back. Good post.

My question is why? How about transferring your Tidal list to Spotify. Tidal does not sound better and Spotify has better organization.

Not sure what you mean, both are very well organized online music libraries with good metadata.

Are you talking about how you like Spotify over Tidal?

Yes, I prefer the organization of Spotify, but I only tried Tidal back in March of this year.

One answer is that the majors such as Roon, Aurender and Auralic (to name a few) are integrating Tidal into their interface. Tidal is becoming the standard with many music servers.

I like things about both Tidal and Spotify and I subscribe to both. I think Tidal is clunkier but it is lossless. I find myself reading, surfing or otherwise distracted in the music room well over half the time. That's when I queue up my Spotify playlists.

Both Spotify and Tidal are wonderful for discovering other artists. Spotify gets to know your listening habits and will suggest a weekly two hour playlist for you every week based on your listening habits. They pretty much nail it too.

I suspect over time I'll migrate over to Tidal though as I get sucked into one of the major music servers and my Mac Mini plays a more minor role.

Spotify is organized better. Better playlists. I didn't realize that it learned listeners' preferences, the best quality of Pandora.

Spotify has smarter search abilities. Tidal has trouble if an artist or song isn't typed correctly and completely.

Still, I listen mostly to Tidal due to better sound quality. The two companies should merge and offer different tiers of sevice and sound quality. Might create a more sustainable company.

Craig, the feature is called Discover Weekly. I'd say the longer Spotify gets to know you and your listening habits, the more familiar and NEW artists they are going to introduce to you that you may very well like.
